Croy station

 

Croy station is on the Glasgow Queen Street/ Edinburgh line. There are direct trains, operated by First ScotRail (external link), from Glasgow Queen Street (also stopping at Bishopbriggs & Lenzie). There are also direct trains from Edinburgh (Waverley & Haymarket), Falkirk (High), Alloa, Stirling, Bridge Of Allan, Dunblane & Larbet stations to Croy. The station is staffed most of the day and there is wheelchair access to both platforms.


    There’s usually 4 trains an hour (Monday - Saturday) from Glasgow Queen Street & journey time is 12-16 minutes. From Edinburgh its a more limited 1/2 hourly service taking @ 40 minutes.


    There is a bus service (number 43, 403 or 147 operated by Canavan Coaches or Henderson Travel) from the sheltered bus stop across the main road at the station bridge costing @ £1.00, which will take you to Craiglinn bus stop, near to Broadwood, covering the 20 minute walk in less than 5 minutes.  There is no taxi rank at the station.


    The adult off peak return train fare:-

from Glasgow to Croy is £4.50 (£6.20 at peak time).


Edinburgh to Croy is £11.60 (£17.70 at peak time).


Falkirk to Croy is £6.20 (£7.60 at peak time).


Alloa to Croy is £7.60 (£11.20 at peak time).


Peak time is usually classed as Monday-Friday before 09:00am & in the evening between @ 4:30pm & 6:20pm.


    If you are travelling by train with children between the ages of 5 & 16 years old then ask for a 'Kids Go Free' return ticket. Its a special promotional ticket for off-peak travel only. Up to 2 accompanied children travel free with one fare paying adult. (e.g. normal return fares for one adult & two children from Glasgow to Croy would be £9.00. A 'Kids Go Free' ticket for the same adult & two children would cost £4.50. Full details of this offer is at First ScotRail (external link).

    Please be aware that Cumbernauld train station is @ 3 miles from Broadwood Stadium, with no easy walking route. If you have to travel from Cumbernauld rail station a taxi is your best option, as there is no regular bus service between Cumbernauld train station & Broadwood. No details on travelling to/from Cumbernauld station are shown on this site anymore, because, quite frankly it is a pain in the arse trying to navigate on foot from the station.

Nearest train station to Broadwood Stadium is Croy, which is @ 11/2 miles or 20 minute walk
